Characterization Technician

Primary responsibilities:
- Self-driven individual able to independently perform physical, optical, and electrical measurements in laboratory setting as well as on factory floor with minimal or no supervision
- Executes measurements and calibration routines to achieve best repeatability and reproducibility across metrology tools
- Communicates effectively with engineers/scientists and process and characterization technicians
- Extreme attention to details in gathering experimental data, documenting changes, reporting results and issues
- Develop expertise in troubleshooting Characterization equipment and related software with engineering support
- Consolidates data for reporting performance and yields
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Able to understand operation and calibration of complex instrumentation and generate work instructions
- Must be able to work any day and any shift (including weekends) - currently business needs are day shift Monday-Friday
To be considered, candidates must have the following background:
Education and Certifications
- A high school diploma is required, and special consideration will be given to candidates with associates degrees, special training, and experience in thin film or coating metrology
Professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a technician in thin film operations, flat panel, or optical
